Happy 30th Birthday NED, Inc.!

#OTD – April 23, 1994 – NED, Inc. made its debut at the Brimfield Donut Invitational in Brimfield, IL. The Tournament Master Series 100 is the predecessor to today’s Line Up Chain Link lockout system. While several design changes were quickly made, the legacy of those first systems can still be seen in its modern counter-part. Note the fixed wire connections between the pushbuttons & contestant modules. As well as, the nine-pin connectors between modules!

In attendance that day were FIVE IHSSBCA Hall of Fame coaches – Tom Durbin (MacArthur), Nick Pitz (Moline), Jeff Vallosio (Peoria Hts), Larry Varner (Galva), & Beth Young (Quincy). So impressed were the coaches upon seeing the Tournament Master that inquiries were quickly made to have one made for their school. For many years, the “daisy chain” system was BuzzerSystems.com‘s signature product, especially after its debut at the IHSA State Finals in 1996.

20 years later, the majority of Illinois schools now compete on BuzzerSystems.com equipment. NED, Inc. is proud of its legacy in Illinois scholastic bowl & continually strives to better serve the quiz bowl community with its wide range of products.
