We recently had a query from a customer wanting to use our hand buttons with their product. This is not unusual – our hand buttons are durable and can be used in many applications (even applications not even remotely associated with quiz games!).
If you ever consider using our buttons with your project or product, we think you’ll be pleased with their longevity and design. But there are many things to consider to successfully incorporate a momentary into a design. You must account for failure modes! We’ve compiled some suggestions at this new link: https://buzzersystems.com/hand-button-design-considerations/
It might seem strange for a manufacturer to discuss how their product fails (they last forever, right?), but we’ve had more than two decades of experience with buttons that behave in less-than-ideal ways. We want our customers to be happy with our products, and we recognize that can only happen if:
(1) We make a durable, dependable button, and
(2) The Customer designs their system to accommodate failure modes (no matter how improbable).
If you have any suggestions, please let us know!
